Bupa Advertising + 125 Magazine

December was an exciting month shooting a national campaign for Bupa’s sports sponsorships, featuring Mo Farah, Ed Clancy, Dan Keatings, Stef Reid + Jazz Carlin.

I’ve also been putting together the final touches to a 12 page story + short film appearing in the upcoming 125 Magazine, Olympian Issue.  Above is a little teaser from the film featuring M+P’s Harry Uzoka + styling by Olie Arnold. The full story + film will be out in February.

Kirschner Brasil – DEDICADA ao CICLISMO/1

This is the first in a series of 3 films I’ve made for the launch of the Brazilian cycling company Kirschner.  It’s a montage from all the locations and people I met over my hectic 4 days in southern Brazil earlier this year. Listen to this one with headphones if you can to make the most of the amazing score by Andrew Telling.

Big thanks to all involved!

The next instalment will be out later this year…

Futevolei Copacabana

This sport is amazing, never seen or heard of it before my visit to Copacabana beach in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil.  It’s called Futevolei, roughly translated to football volleyball…  You’re allowed to use your head, chest and feet to pass the ball back and forth over the net.  Being pretty rubbish at ball control I decided to snap a few picture instead. See a few more on my website here.

Kirschner Brasil

I’ve just spent an adventurous week traveling the south of Brasil shooting stills and video for an exciting new Brasil based cycling brand, Kirschner.  This is the Serra do Rastro, one of the most epic climbs in Brasil…

The full shoot including moving image will be online in the coming weeks…

Luke Strong, 2011 GB Champion

Luke Strong is the new British Trampoline Champion. Luke won the Senior Mens British Championships with a score of 56.585. The World Trampoline Championships will be held at the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham in November and are a key qualifying event for the Olympic Team. Luke will take great encouragement for this result which will put him in a good position to make the GBR team to represent Britain in the 2012 Olympics in London.  See the official result on the British Gymnastics website here.

I photographed Luke Strong for my recent Port Magazine featured which can be seen on my website here.

Etape Du Tour 2011, Act II

This June, myself and a few friends decided to take on the challenge on the Etape Du Tour, a stage of the Tour De France open for non professionals.  It was stage 9 this year, 208km from Issoire – St Flour through the Massif Central region.

The event was sponsored by Rapha and enticed 6000 entrants from across the globe. On the day, 2000 entrants failed to show up, put off by the adverse weather and a further 2000 riders didn’t make the finish line. Miraculously I managed to finish all 208km in a time just over 10 hours, which is a mere 4 and 1/2 hours slower than Luis Leon Sanchez Gil completed it a week earlier with the pros…

Although I was sans camera for the actual event, below are a few shots of our adventures both pre and post etape…

The start of the descent of the Col Du Peyrol, a just reward after the epic climb to 1589m.

Rob Milton, A good friend, talented designer and probably the reason I got into riding bikes in the first place, check out rob’s cycling blog here + his design work here.

Mike Kangelos, one of the strongest riders I know, also the mechanic at one of London’s best independent bike shops, Push Cycles.

Roxy, Rob and Mike looking over the road leading up to the Col Du Peyrol, one of the toughest climbs on the stage…

All taken on my Contax T3, long live film…

Night Football

Summer evening football under the flood lights of Kennington, South London.

I ride past this place all the time going between central London and Brixton where I live. There’s always a multitude of people playing sports bathed in the sodium floodlights well into the night, in the peak on summer you can still see the glow of dusk in the distance behind the Kennington towers up until about 11pm, that’s when I took these shots.
